User Posted Image Dear Bill,
The fishing was nothing short of fantastic! We caught over 200 bass each
day and had fish of at least 9 pounds each day and boated 3 over 10 pounds!
From the time George picked us up until we were dropped off at the airport
for the trip home your staff at Trophy Bass Lodge were great to deal with.
Our food and accommodations were fine and the service was great.
Most of our bass came on Flukes and Senkos, but I worked my way thru my
tackle box on the last morning and I caught fish on 16 different lures!
It was simply amazing!
Virtually all of our bass over 6 pounds came on the Storm Wild Eye swim
bait. Tom used the 4” and I caught all of mine on the 5” model
in Shiner/Chartreuse or Pearl dipped in Chartreuse dye.
Our guide, Louis, was outstanding and entertaining. He knows bass and
is a delight to share a boat with. I can assure you that Tom and I will
request him when we return to Lake Huites and Trophy Bass Lodge. Yes we
have to come back!
I’ll be in touch to check for dates to fish the Top Water bite this
fall as Louis told us the fishing was outstanding all year and that the
Big Fish were not separated at that time.
Please feel free to use Tom, Nick, Stoney or me as references as the other
three did well also and each one also caught a 10 pounder or better along
with their 200 plus fish each day!

Sincerely,
Ronald R.Toler

User Posted Image Dear Wild Bill,

I cannot express just how much I enjoyed my recent trip to Trophy Bass Lodge on Lake Huites.

I must admit, I had some doubts about our fishing success during my February 13-15, 2006 visit to Lake Huites. I had heard reports that the lake had suffered an unexpected massive draw-down a few years ago which resulted in a fish kill and that the fishing was no where near what it was four or five years ago when I had first visited the lake.

I am happy to report that Lake Huites is flourishing. Perhaps there was a brief lull in the
bass fishing action after the draw-down that occurred in 2002 for a season, but it seems that Huites' spunky largemouths have bounced back in a big way. After my partner and I landed over 600 fish in those three days of fishing, I cannot imagine any better fishing success.

On top of that, I managed to land the largest bass of my life, a hefty largemouth just missing the 11 pound mark.

I’m reporting my catch so that others that may be concerned will not hesitate to come to Lake Huites for their next fishing adventure.

I had been to Huites on two other occasions and I must confess that this trip far exceeded my success as compared with those previous two visits. In fact, I think I personally caught more fish in one day on Huites on this trip than I caught in 6 cumulative days on previous trips.

Bill, I will be back to Huites in the future. I cannot comprehend how the fishing can get any better.

Thanks for the hospitality of the lodge staff and also how well you prepared me in terms of what lures to bring and how and where to fish them.

User Posted Image Dear David,

My partner and I recently visited Trophy Bass Lodge on January 16th - 19th, 2006. The facility was very nice. The food was superb. The fishing was out of this world. The first day we caught over 200 fish. The second day, after a good night's rest, we caught over 300 fish. The third day we only fished 5 hrs. and caught over 100 fish. On the third day I caught 3 five pounders, 2 six pounders and then I caught the Biggest Bass of my lifetime which was 23" long with and 18" girth weighing 9 and 1/2 lbs. Thank you God for allowing me to experience the best fishing of my lifetime. I am going back in April. See you on the water.

God Bless

User Posted Image Hello David,

I want to thank you and your staff for such a wonderful fishing experience. My partner and I fished three days and caught well over 600 bass. My partner caught the largest bass of his life at 9.42lbs. I caught most of my fish on spinner baits and crankbaits while my partner caught most of his on flukes and tubes. Luis was the best guide I have ever fished with, he was very helpful and knowledgeable about the lake. Freddie is a fantastic cook and all meals were delicious. We have already planned a trip back in April and are looking forward to some more great fishing. The overall experience was wonderful. I'll be talking to you soon.

My recent fishing trip to Trophy Bass Lodge was a trip I will never forget. I spent four days at the lodge and had the best time of my life. We had three days of fishing and never caught less than 100 fish per day each. We fished the last one half of the last day going after big fish and I caught over 20 bass and only 1 was under 3#. I'm already planning my next trip to your lodge. The food was Outstanding and the guides were Fantastic. I'm not used to having someone do everything for me, they take the fish off, they retie your lures if you want and generally do everything for you. I never expected the lodge to be so nice being that far up in the mountains, but it was really great. It was like we were part of a big family. Well, I will close for now and I'll see you again soon.

A Very Pleased Customer

User Posted Image To All at Trophy Bass Lodge,
My recent return from Trophy Bass Lodge has left me nothing short of speechless. I had been looking forward to the trip on expectations of hooking up on "100 fish per day" per boat of anglers. That is a good consensus of the reports I have received. By 10:00 am the first day, we had already exceeded that number, well on our way to over 300 fish up to 9 lbs. The next 2 days were nearly as good, with 200-250 fish brought to the boat up to 9 lbs.
In all sports, there is always an "ultimate" rush, or situation, that defines the best part of the sport. In football it's the long pass for a TD. In baseball it may be a Grand Slam. In fishing there is the topwater bite. Our 3 days of fishing at Lake Huites provided the ultimate in top water action My personal go to lure was the 4.5 High Roller prop bait. But it really didn't seem to matter what was used, the feeding frenzie was on. Buzz baits, Zara Spooks, and poppers were also very good baits. There were a large number of 4-7 lbs. fish caught in the three days of fishing, and a surprising number over 8 lbs.
The only thing that could compete in quality of the fishing, was the quality of the accomodations. Excellent meals, top notch lodging, and service from the staff, cannot be equalled any where. The staff and guides treated us all as if we were family.
None of the individual aspects of this trip would be a reason to return, whether it be the fishing quality, numbers of fish caught, accomodations, meals, or service, if you don't get them all. TROHY BASS LODGE HAS IT ALL!!!!
Thanks for the excellent experience. I will return.

User Posted Image Hey David,

About our Nov. trip to Trophy Bass Lodge and Lake Huites... it was a fantastic trip! Put it this way, you had to hide in the boat to get your bait on the hook without a fish getting it. We were there with you to film a show for Fox Sports Nets' Sportsmens Heritage. We literally caught 300 fish on day 1. I even told my camera guy to put down the camera and join in on the action. Day 2 and 3 went nearly as well trying different techniques a little deeper and we wound up with about 200 bass per day. Big bass was over 9 lbs. with a lot of bass between 4 and 6. Topwater action was the best I ever had! Saltwater spooks, ricos, and buzzbaits were my baits of choice. In the middle of the day I caught fish, one after another, on spinnerbaits and worms. The food, staff, and lodging were top notch as well.

I definately would recommend the Trophy Bass Lodge to anyone looking for a great Mexican bass fishing experience.

User Posted Image Hello David,

Just thought I'd drop you a line to tell you what a wonderful time we had at
Trophy Bass Lounge. First off, the accomodations were some of the best we've ever had and I can't say enough about the staff and the guides, first rate all the way.

The fishing was amazing! There were three boats on the water and all of us were boating 200 plus fish a day and the majority of those were 3, 4 and 5 pounders. All of us caught at least one 7 pounder. The top water bite was amazing, the top water baits we used were buzz baits, jitterbugs, zaraspooks, some crank baits, some stick baits, paddle tails and one of the best baits we found was 4inch fluke. We caught fish from the surface to 10 ft down.

The scenery was breathtaking. None of us could believe how gorgeous the landscape was. Well worth the trip. We are already planning a trip for next year. Once again, congradulations to you and the staff for a great trip.

All I can say is WOW!!!! See you next year!
