CEO Trophy Bass Lodge, Lake Huites, Mexico |
| In 2004, David concluded a successful 25 year
career in the petroleum industry as an independent oil producer
and consultant and returned to one of his life’s earlier
passions, the sportfishing industry where he was a manufactures
representative from 1972 – 1976. David successfully participated
in several of the bass tournament venues in the early 70’s
before his career in the petroleum industry demanded his full
attention. An angling enthusiast since childhood, his introduction
into angling adventures outside of the US began in 1975 with
a trip to Honduras to fish the famed Lake Yojoa Lagoon. Since
that trip he has escorted family, friends, business associates
and now clients throughout the Americas in search of the most
exciting sportfishing adventure destinations available. For
thirty years his angling quest has taken him from the delta
and canyon lakes of the West to the marshes and timbered reservoirs
of the South and throughout the Midwest to the highland impoundments
of Appalachia and the Ozarks...inshore all along the Gulf Coast
and South of the Border to the infamous trophy lakes of Mexico...through
Belize, Honduras and Central America...and on to South America
in search of the explosive Peacock Bass, Payara and Dorado of
the Amazon Rain Forest. The outfitting company, Fishin’
Expeditions, is the natural development of David’s
continuing desire to share the adventures of sportfishing with
those that wish to join him.
In addition to assisting his team in providing outfitting
services through Fishin’ Expeditions,
David is also Co-Host of the popular Bassin’ Mexico
television show, a guest host for Azod-TV’s Sportsman’s
Heritage which airs on Fox Sports Net and Brock Ray’s
Better Built World of Outdoors which airs on The Men’s
Channel. His fishing the Americas segment airs on ESPN Radio’s
Shake, Rattle and Troll with host Don McDowell and as a contributing
writer his Sportfishing Journal stories appear in publications
like Arizona Outdoorsman and Sportsman’s News. His Fishing
the Americas Team also produces promotional DVD media for
sportfishing destinations.
In early 2005 David, along with five partners, acquired Trophy
Bass Lodge located on Lake Huites, Mexico. As CEO, David’s
business plan for Trophy Bass Lodge is reflected in the mission
statement: "to serve our clients and guests with integrity
and do everything possible to insure that we are providing
them with exceptional service, with exceptional accommodations
and facilities, with an exceptional dining experience...and
with our very best efforts at providing “the fishing
trip of a lifetime”.
David is a supporting member of PBA, IGFA, ASA and BASS. |
